2009 "Port-Style" Zinfandel Dessert Wine

Parkmon Estate Vineyard

Lamorinda (Contra Costa County)

With the success of our inaugural attempt at a dessert wine in 2008, we were ecstatic to be able to replicate this effort with our 2009 Zinfandel, bottling a dessert wine to pair with the finaldish of a multi-course meal.At 18% alcohol, you only need a small sip to experience the richness and depth of this wine.On the nose, you'll notice Amarone-like, fragrant scents of dried black fruits, plum, and cocoa. On the palate, the 4% residual sugar is noticeable, but well balanced by the acidity of the Zinfandel grape, only adding to the plush, expansive palate of marionberry pie and leadingto a lavish finish that will be sure to please. Though rich, the nectar is not overly-viscous,providing the perfect pairing for a flourless molten chocolate soufflé (or short of that, tryit with shaved dark chocolate >=69% cocoa). Enjoy it this Holiday season or on your nextspecial "dessert wine" occasion.
